Andy and the Big Funk!
The Big Funk, as the name suggests covers funk, soul, R&B and dance music but Andy also created a number of different line ups such as Rocks Off that largely concentrates on Yacht Rock and Eighties bangers, Popfunkstatic featuring the slightly funkier cuts from 80’s pop.
The Davy Jones experience dedicated to the music of David Bowie and number of other bespoke shows including 90’s Dance Diva’s; Thursday Night Soundtrack including the recent recording at Abbey Road Studios of Funksploitation a collection of tracks from the era Shaft and Superfly, Pricilla Queen of the Desert fully orchestrated presentation, The Roots of Soul and Sounds of Mowtown & Stax & A Christmas Soul.
Andy’s entry into the world of show began with The Chicken Shed Theatre and he then went onto form his own original band projects playing in a variety of London venues including: Dingwalls, The Rock Garden, Le Beat Route, Production Village, Subterranea etc and innumerable festivals, colleges and universities as well as recording Three albums under this line up. It was during this period his long association with the world famous Abbey Road Studios began with Mitchell training as an engineer.
