Flick is a vibrant, energetic and friendly Saxophonist from North Yorkshire who trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her experience is vast, giving her the ability to play along with DJs, backing tracks, function bands, or as part of ensembles; from weddings to corporate dinners, bar gigs and bat mitzvahs, to birthdays, anniversaries and graduation parties.
During her career she has had the pleasure of playing at some prestigious venues including the Natural History Museum, Kensington and Alexandra Palaces, the Langham Hotel, the Reform Club on the Mall, Cambridge University, and more. Flick also brought the party to Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations by dancing and playing down the Mall, broadcast live on the BBC. Flick not only brings energy, enthusiasm and good vibes to her work, but she is also very highly-skilled both technically and musically, which can be attested to through her work on the West End, at flagship concert halls, and on national and international tours. She has been featured on BBC Radio 2, Five Live, Sky and STV, and in printed press including Elle, Grazia, the Metro and the Sunday Times. Flick is a Saxophonist that cares about every event she attends - right down to the small details. She feels communication is key to ensuring each special occasion runs smoothly and always ensures that she stays in regular touch with her clients in the run up to their special day. Special requests are also accommodated, including being a surprise act! Got a special first dance song in mind? She’s got it covered. Want her to jam along to a particular remix of a vintage banger? She’s there for it. Flick also has an extensive wardrobe (guilty pleasure) and is happy to tailor her appearance to any party or event theme. Be it pub or club, hall or ball, home or hotel, Flick would be delighted to provide her saxophonic skills for your event; bringing the love she has for her instrument to every job she does. |
The proof is in the feedback!‘Super thank you to Flick for putting on a great gig for a surprise 40th birthday garden party. From our first conversation Flick filled us with confidence that everything would be great, and it was, from the extra help with the organisation of the various playlists, to sneaking in as a party guest to keep the surprise going. Everyone at the party commented how great it was, lots of people up dancing which is always a good sign! Cannot wait for another reason for a party so we can book in again… Thank you Flick!" “I've had the pleasure of having Flick play Sax and Clarinet in my band for a number of years now, in a variety of musical styles - jazz, klezmer and everything function from motown to contemporary pop. She is incredibly versatile, a strong reader and improvisor, extremely hard-working and extremely reliable. Across the many varied gigs over the last few years we've played together, Flick has consistently been professional, punctual, completely prepared and always happy to flexibly accommodate any last-minute changes and additions throw her way. In addition to her impressively eclectic musical talent, Flick is a total delight to be around both on and off the stage. She brings a contagious warmth and energy to every performance, which I've found to be a huge asset to my group as a whole and this is immediately obvious from the first meet-and-greet moment. Flick is always an invaluable contribution to an ensemble and I couldn't recommend her highly enough.” Gabriel Chernick “I’ve been hiring Flick consistently over the last 2-3 years and she is totally fabulous. A great sax player first and foremost, but loads of fun on stage and great to watch as well.” Bobby Goulder "I want to thank you for work last night, the entire morning packing up was a mixture of “wasn’t that a great night” and “the girls playing was amazing how do they just dip in and out so quickly with the change in song”! It was a master class, very nice to work with you and hope to bump into you at some point on a job maybe." Jon |
