Your wedding is a once in a lifetime experience which should embody beauty, romance and everything that you uphold. The saxophone has proven to be a popular addition for weddings. We have seen how it has brought the day together by offering an elegant backdrop to a reception or brought guests onto the dance floor! 1) Ambience The saxophone oozes class; its air of sophistication and romance can create a truly elegant atmosphere. As guests arrive and the ceremony begins, a light acoustic accompaniment can set the scene, easing everyone into the feel for the day. Light Blues can be introduced to the reception to maintain the happy flow of the event without overwhelming guests as they socialise, or when the Wedding Breakfast is served. As the night evolves, we can change the mood to include upbeat hits from whichever genre you choose and get you and your guests up out of their seats. Wherever your wedding is, we can create an atmospheric day tailored to your needs, ensuring a wedding day you will never forget. 2) Genre Versatility Our saxophonists have worked all over the UK playing an array of genres. Whether it’s our roots in Smooth Jazz, Blues, and Motown or a new twist on Contemporary Pop, Club Mix, and Ibiza Chillout, our musicians know their craft and can cater to your preferences. Our very own Paul has performed at London’s O2 arena and Royal Albert Hall and launched a sax and jazz quartet. Christian has lived in Jamaica and spent five years performing and touring with some of the world’s greatest Reggae musicians. He now plays countless public and private functions playing hits from the present day right back to the 1940’s. Our high-energy performer, Madsy can bring out the party feel and engage with your guests, performing solo or alongside DJ backing tracks. All our saxophonists have years of experience and are ready to play to your tune! 3) Once in a Lifetime We know no two weddings are the same and yours should be unique to you and your guests. If you want to stand out from the crowd or just experience something new, hiring a saxophonist is the perfect opportunity to do so. For some, it will be the first time they will hear a live saxophonist. Its distinctive sound and image is vastly different from that offered by traditional DJs. Its iconic sound and sight can heighten poignant moments in the day, enhance the atmosphere during the wedding breakfast and transport your guests while they mingle or dance in celebration. Hiring a saxophonist is a chance to create a once-in-a-life-time-experience for the new couple and your guests. 4) Flexibility Wedding entertainment is often static, requiring an indoor setting with a lot of electrical equipment. The singular nature of the saxophone means it can be transported anywhere and when played acoustically can be performed in different environments. Our musicians are very experienced in playing in various weather conditions. They have played in the summery outdoors, adding a soulful swing to parties, gardens, pool sides and marquees or intimate indoor private gatherings. We can even offer vocals to accompany our saxophonists. 5) With the Band If you are looking for a professional saxophonist, they can add a jazzy spin or other musical styles to your special day. The saxophone’s adoption into the jazz genre dates back to the 1920’s and evolved into the swing era in the 1930’s. At Essex Saxophonists for Hire, we honour the saxophone’s history by also being available as part of a jazz trio or band. Our very own Niki has over 15 years’ experience. As well as being a trained musician, she can be hired with a vocalist partner. From Ibiza Sax and 80’s party music just let Niki know what genres you want to hear. Paula has played in soul bands, big bands, theatre shows, and Latin music ensembles. She has experience with a Rat Pack show, a Diana Ross and George Michael show, and can be added to your choice of musicians. Paul has launched a sax quartet and jazz quintet whilst also running a monthly jazz jam. Our team is very much used to solo and group performances should you wish to add to the occasion.
